LAC Trio

LAC was formed in Rotterdam in 2022, when the three musicians came together within the walls of the CODARTS University. The trio consists of Andrea Leone on tenor saxophone, Leonardo Franceschini on guitar, and Carlo Longo on drums.

Characterized by a jazz musical imprint and an unconventional vision of sound, the ensemble favors the use of electronics. The listener is taken on a journey full of colorful moments, immersed in original compositions, jazz pieces, and rearrangements by composers such as Mompou and Debussy.

LAC's music is a blend of creative spaces, marked by the interplay of the three musicians, leaning towards avant-garde jazz with evocative melodies and harmonies alternating with moments of free improvisation. The absence of bass in the project provides a unique opportunity for expression, creating rich and suggestive sonic atmospheres through the application of electronics to Leonardo Franceschini's guitar and Andrea Leone's saxophone. Carlo Longo provides subtle yet powerful rhythmic accompaniment, thanks to his musical sensitivity and creativity.

Within the repertoire, the trio explores a wide dynamic range, ranging from dreamy, as in their version of Debussy's "Beau Soir," to captivating compositions like “Rifiorisce," composed by Leonardo.
